Barefoot Gen: the story of Hiroshima

This is a sad story of Gen, a japanese boy living in Hiroshima in the WWII period. He has a big family, with 1 sister and 3 brothers! After his father refuses to do spear drill and criticises the war, everybody starts shunning his family, and treat them badly, execpt for Mr. Pak, a korean trapped in Japan. However, the americans are planning 'Project Manhattan', the atomic bomb... Shinji (the youngest brother), Gen, and Eiko (the sister) got through many hardships, until Akira, one of the 4 brothers, end up going to the country side to stay there, should Hiroshima be bombed. And unfortunately, Hiroshima was bombed, with the 'little boy' aka: the deadly Atomic Bomb. Which of the family will survive this terrible ordeal? Read to find out!!!
