This book may not be suited for you. True, it may be about (ahem) faries, but it's not all those girly kind of faries you see on tv. It's more like the spiderwick chronicles, with a dark side. This book really creeps me out in a mysterious way, not a gross way like in The Book Of Lost Things. It's about a girl called Tanya, who is in a spot of trouble with her mum. She is sent to her Grandmother's house to see if the countryside air will calm her 'issues' that really weren't caused by her. Soon, she and Fabian (her cousin) discovers the truth about her grandma's derelict mansion, after being given a strange compass with only one letter, 'H' on it. The twosome get lost in the misleading Hangman's Forest while trying to find their dog. Soon falling into despair, it was a timely appearance of a girl with long black hair and a green dress that spooked them. The newspaper had said that she disappeared in Hangman's forest, FIFTY YEARS AGO. How could she still look like she was fourteen? When they find their way back to the mansion, they discover a secret chamber in the mansion and (yet another) mysterious girl, only known as Red...
