Greg's family has cut back on the vacations and day trips to save money this really stuck because it's summer. Grey would be happy just to stay home all day and play video games but his mom has other ideas so she starts a BOOK CLUB! But Greg was still looking on the bright side his best friend, Rowley, owned a country club so Greg had free drinks there until one day he receives a bill of $83 for the smoothies so Greg found himself a job (mowing other people lawns) and this plan ended up as every other plan of his. DISASTER. So he would have to somehow get money to pay for the smoothies instead of buying the dog he always wanted on his birthday. Or so he thinks.
