Dogs don't tell jokes by Louis Sachar

Im not sure where the story gets its name from.
But in the beginning, a boy called Gary W. Boone, tells jokes all time. He has always waned to be a standup comedian but everyone doubts him as they say his jokes aren't funny. They even call him 'Goon'. His hopes are  all up until he sees a poster for a Talent show. Gary signs up straight away. He is so keen on winning the talent show as the first prize will be $100. So Gary practices everyday at home instead of finishing homework. The night before the great Talent show, a girl called Angelina, a close friend of his, phones him up to say that she felt something bad was going to happen. Something VERY bad...
I would really recommend this book because its really humorous. the author is also Louis Sachar. This book is in the library too!
