Holes by Louis Sachar


The book 'Holes' is a magnificent story of a young boy who goes to Camp Green Lake.  There, he is made to dig a deep hole in the dry dirt every single day. He is not the only one there at Camp Green Lake. He also meets other boys just not as friendly as himself. All the boys in Group D had given themselves nicknames such as Armpit, Magnet and X-ray. 
There is also a movie based on the book which is supposed to be very good.

    Thank you Lotte- a good overview of the book there. I don't want to talk too much about "Holes" om the blog yet though as we haven#t all finished reading it.
    I'm currently more curious about all your general reading- so I wonder if you can all answer me this: who is your favourite fictional character and why?

    My favourite fictional character is a girl in the book 'Dolphin Song'. Her name is Martine. She goes on a school trip which is on an boat to see the sardine run. Late at night, a huge storm comes and she falls off board. Then a huge group of dolphins come and swim towards her and save her from the sharks that are circling her. I cant tell you the rest as it is a long story.

    My fav is Percy Jackson from 'Percy Jackson and the titans curse'. He goes to a castle and then is attacked, by a creature. He saves to young half-bloods but his crush-teammate-thingy,charges at the creature and they both fall off the cliff and he goes off on a adventure with some hunters to go find thier god-mistress but actually hes mainly trying to help them and find annabeth at the same time.
