The inhabitants of Krikkit are sick of looking at the night sky, so they plan to destroy the universe so that there won't be a sky to look at.(The guide says:'the night sky above Krikkit is the most boring thing in the universe, because it is pitch black.') Now, the only thing that can stop Armageddon is Arthur Dent and his crew, whom are scattered across the galaxy. Arthur is stuck with Ford Prefect on a prehistoric Earth that a Magrathean called Slartibartfast made. Meanwhile, Zaphod Beeblebrox, as well as Tricia Mcmillian (a fellow earthling who skipped the planet a month earlier)are on Krikkit already trying to avert the disaster.
